El 16/10/2009, The Young Veins dio una entrevista a la emisora de radio EV (East Village Radio). La entrevista empieza con Change, la primera canción que conocimos del grupo, y continúa con algunas preguntas de los entrevistadores a Ryan y Alex Greenwald, para después pasar a la emisión de la canción que ya comentamos en el post anterior: The Other Girl.
Diez minutos de entrevista que vale la pena escuchar. Esperamos conseguir el script pronto y ponerlo por aquí.
Ya podemos escuchar algo más de Take a Vacation, aunque no es demasiado oficial pero sí una especie de “première” de la canción, que se llama The Other Girl.
¡Por fin tenemos información sobre el primer trabajo del grupo! Sabemos, gracias a los comentarios de Ryan Ross en Twitter, que el nombre de este trabajo es “Take a Vacation”, y que esta noche (15/10/2009) van a ofrecer una “Listening Party” en Nueva York (http://img200.yfrog.com/i/fisr.jpg/), donde seguramente mostrarán a los muy afortunados asistentes algunas notas y canciones de lo que nos espera.
Así que ya sabéis…ahora sí que queda poco para tener novedades!

Último día de grabación. Esperemos que sea cierto y dentro de poco (muy poco) nos deleiten con nuevas canciones, que aunque no es mucho, da la impresión de que llevamos siglos esperando =P
El 28 de julio, el grupo se presentó por fin como The Young Veins y dieron a conocer su página de MySpace, en la que colgaron su primer single (y único hasta la fecha): Change (del que se puede leer la letra y su traducción en el Foro -> The Young Veins -> General).
TYV trabajó en el estudio de grabación con Rob Mathes, que fue también productor de Pretty. Odd., último disco de P!ATD cuando Ryan Ross y Jon Walker formaban parte del grupo.
También tuvieron la colaboración de Alex Greenwald, líder de los Phanton Planet y amigo de los dos miembros del grupo, que participó en la producción del single y toca la guitarra en la canción. Alex Greenwald podría convertirse en algo más “fijo” en la formación, ya que gracias a Twitter sabemos que después de presentar el primer single han estado grabando más canciones juntos.
Ryan Ross habla sobre los motivos de la separación para MTV News (traducción más abajo):
Last week, fans were shocked when news broke that Panic! at the Disco were parting ways with guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker, who left the band to “embark on a musical excursion of their own.” But according to Ross, the split had been in the cards for sometime now. It just took everyone a while to realize it.
“It’s been a little while, a few months since we started thinking that this might be the best thing to do,” Ross told MTV News late Monday (July 13). “Jon and I had been writing a bunch of stuff on the road, and it just got to a point when we were off tour, when we were talking about getting together and working on this stuff, that it became pretty apparent that we all weren’t wanting to go in the same direction. There was a period where we weren’t really talking to each other all that much, and Jon and I were just living at my house and continuing to write. And we kind of realized we needed to get over not speaking and figure out what was actually going on. So we all sat down and pretty much came to the conclusion that the best thing for everyone was to do what we did.”
Ross said the split was largely due to creative differences between him and Panic! frontman Brendon Urie. Seems Urie wanted the band to explore a more polished pop sound (like the demo they posted on their Web site last week), while Ross — and, by extension, Walker — was interested in making retro-inspired rock. El 6 de julio de este año (2009) se anunció en la página del grupo Panic! at the Disco la marcha de dos de los miembros de la formación, Ryan Ross y Jon Walker, con este comunicado que apareció en el MySpace de la banda y en la página oficial:
To Whom This May Concern:
Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic at the Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too.
